Russell Blues Band is, by all accounts, the oldest blues band in Trøndelag. The band started in 1967, three of the original members are still with them, and the average age is 74 years. After a few years of hiatus, they have now played in Central Norway and at festivals in Norway and Sweden for the past 30 years.
When the band started, they were strongly influenced by John Mayall and in general by English blues. And they are still true to their roots, so here you can hear the band's versions of a lot of classic guitar blues!
The band now consists of:
Dag Jonsen, vocals
Ketil Rudjord, guitar
Gisle Jonson, piano/organ
Tor Langbach, bass
Inge Warankov, drums
Terje Paulsen, sax (currently on sick leave)
Dag, Terje and Tor are original members.
