This evening's concert offers a journey from sparkling French elegance to sunny Bohemian meadows.
Rameau's Les Indes galantes shocked the audience of the time with unexpected harmonies and surprisingly complex and rich music. Even today, Rameau's music strikes us as unexpectedly beautiful and powerful - a masterpiece from the Enlightenment.
The French pianist, Cédric Tiberghien, will, with his dynamic and vital playing style, truly do justice to Saint-Saëns' richly musical and imaginative world.
Dvořák celebrates his beloved homeland in this symphony that is full of warmth, energy, liveliness and a large, colorful orchestral sound.
