...COLLECTING MY THOUGHTS...
Now, in the waiting time leading up to Christmas, we welcome you to an Advent concert where we invite the audience into a meditative space.
In the year 2024, we need both peace of mind and moments of respite.
Classical music carries something timeless and infinite. It’s as if it gives voice to what cannot be put into words.
Here, you will hear classical works that, in different ways, offer both calm and time for reflection. The pieces will be performed a cappella, and between the pieces, you will hear organist Mariko Takei.
At the entrance to the concert there will also be a performance on the church’s carillon.
Welcome!
The choir's repertoire for this evening includes:
- Miserere mei, Deus - by Gregorio Allegri
- Hátið fer að höndum ein, Icelandic folk tune, arr. Jón Ásgeirsson
- O sacrum convivium by Olivier Messiaen
- Coventry Carol, traditional, arr.
- A hymn to the virgin, Benjamin Britten
- Mitt hjerte alltid vanker, arr. Ragnar Rasmussen/Ole Bull Kammerkor
- O magnum mysterium, Francis Poulenc
- Den fagraste rosa er funni, Norwegian folk tune, arr. Martin Steinum Brun
- Ave Regina by Terje Bjørklund
