As a collaboration between the folk dance program Dansespor's Ildsjelsamling and the EU project Dance - ICH, Sff, Ringve and Rockheim invite the whole country to seminars and courses at Rockheim 29-30. November 2024.

This weekend we will focus on dance and dance music for rural dance, old-time dance and swing. The aim of the gathering is to equip the participants with a toolbox full of knowledge, inspiration and dissemination methods that can be adapted to needs and target group, in order to create more dance activity locally. 

Are you wondering how you can create more folk dance and swing activity in your local environment? Do you have a good idea for an activity, but are unsure how to reach out? Do you want to get better at playing for dance, or do you as a dancer want to increase your knowledge of dance music? Welcome to an inspirational weekend with a seminar, dance workshop, playing course with instrument maintenance and project work, where we share our best dissemination methods and tools to get more dance activity started in your area!

The seminar and courses are suitable for those who promote folk dance, swing and the music that goes with it (both organized, voluntary or for example in schools or kindergartens), and those who engage in dance and music in other ways, and want to create more dance activity in your local environment. The gathering provides a great opportunity to build networks and exchange ideas with others who are passionate about the same. 

We plan social activities so that all the participants will get to know each other better and have a good time together, including a  dance party on Saturday evening!

The seminar and dance party are free for participants. Parts of the seminar will be open to all interested persons, but we would like you to register for courses and workshops.
