"We're dedicating a weekend to sgraffito! This is a traditional decorating technique that transfers a graphic expression onto the clay. The technique is reminiscent of linocut or woodcut. Join us for a calm and inspiring weekend course – no prior experience necessary :)

You can use slip (clay paste) or underglaze for this technique. During the course, you'll have the opportunity to try both.

You cover the leather-hard object with a layer of color, then scrape away parts of the colored surface to create an image or pattern. You can achieve beautiful graphic effects with simple means or dive deep into figurative drawing.

Saturday: 10 AM - 2 PM (4 PM)
Sunday: 10 AM - 2 PM (4 PM)

The course is structured so that participants receive a demonstration at the beginning of the day, guidance throughout their own projects, and time for personal work at the end of the day (2 PM - 4 PM), without the instructor present.

On Saturday, we'll create multiple plates and bowls using slab techniques and molds. Each participant will have 6 kg of clay at their disposal. Participants will also receive some small leather-hard clay tiles for testing different scraping techniques.

The latter part of Saturday will be dedicated to finding inspiration and creating sketches for Sunday.

On Sunday, we'll decorate the plates and bowls we've made. The sgraffito process is meditative, and we'll take our time.

All items made during the course will be dried and fired. The objects will be fired with transparent glaze and can be used for food and drinks and can be washed in a dishwasher. Everything can be picked up 4 weeks after the course.

The course is suitable for everyone, and no prior experience is required.

The course fee is 2400 NOK for adults and 2000 NOK for individuals under 25 years old. All materials are included."
