In 1999, just before the release of Sigur Rós' second album, "Ágæti's Beginning", Jónsi Birgisson announced that the band was about to change music forever. And rarely has a prophecy proved to be more accurate, because that was exactly what Sigur Rós did.

With their atmospheric, magnificent post-rock, the Icelanders have built their own musical world. A finished universe with its own language, its own rules and its own aesthetics. A place we did not know existed before they created it, and its influence on modern popular culture is difficult to overestimate.
