Charming operatic superstar.
Irresistible vocal power. Genuine acting charisma. Enviable repertoire. And not least – charm that reaches well beyond the back row. Is there anything Sir Bryn Terfel can't do?
The Welsh bass baritone has been called a stage animal as he moves effortlessly between the mighty demonic and the enthrallingly beautiful in his performances. He has for decades been a coveted guest on stages worldwide, and an audience favourite wherever he goes.
His repertoire encompasses everything: Wagner, musicals, Welsh treasures and sacred gems. After selling millions of recordings and receiving Grammy and Gramophone awards, he was knighted in 2017 for his services to music.
Bryn Terfel has performed at the Bergen International Festival before, when he played Mefisto in Gounod's Faust and sang with Norway and Bergen's national nightingale Sissel Kyrkjebø in an open air concert. This concert showcases his magnificent bass baritone voice accompanied by his regular pianist Caradog Williams in a personally selected solo programme.
