Skala operakor - Suor Angelica

Skala Opera Choir presents the one-act play Suor Angelica by Giacomo Puccini.

The opera Suor Angelica is originally about a woman who is banished to a life in a convent because she had a child out of wedlock.
In Skala Opera's production, the plot has been moved to a women's prison.

The plot contains several women's stories that help to create the framework around this dark prison scenario. In prison, we encounter many destinies, each of which reflects Angelica's life. The plot explores how high a price one pays to pursue one's dreams and longings.

The opera is sung in its original version in Italian, with Andreas Løken Taklo on piano.

Conductor is Hedda Dicanio-Bakker.
