This Summer’s Most Fun Exhibition – Featuring Drawings by None Other Than Fredrik Skavlan!

For decades, Fredrik Skavlan has established himself as one of Norway’s most beloved illustrators. From publishing comic strips in Dagbladet in his early teens to being awarded "Editorial Cartoon of the Year" in 2024, his distinctive line has been a recognizable feature in both Norwegian and Swedish media.

With painfully relatable scenes, Skavlan captures the human struggle to navigate relationships, technology, and the ever-changing zeitgeist – with pets scattered throughout as our silent observers.

In addition to his regular Saturday cartoon in Aftenposten, Fredrik has illustrated around twenty books.

He has also held several solo exhibitions, and his work is represented in collections such as those of the Norwegian Parliament and the National Library. And this summer, you can experience a selection of his spot-on single-panel cartoons right here – in the foyer of Nye Hjorten Teater!

The exhibition runs until August 3.
