Inspired by Stanisław Lem's cult novel Solaris and Andrej Tarkovsky's film adaptation, Verk Produksjoner dives into the mysterious sea of Solaris - a planet with a form of intelligence that can take on infinite forms.
On the space station in orbit around the planet, this causes the astronauts great psychological disturbances. The performance explores the consequences of the encounter with the inexplicable.

Through conversations about the Solaris sea and its indescribable forms, stories, memories and their effects, as well as experiences from the theater, the complex relationship between reality and illusion, truth and imitation is explored.

Solaris was nominated for the Critics' Award for Theater 2024–2025. Verk Produksjoner has created critically acclaimed performances for over 20 years, toured nationally and internationally, and received the Hedda Prize twice.
