Som om eg har vore her før
By Gyrid Nordal Kaldestad (NO)
Premiere!
Condition, stillness, distance. Kaldestad's work revolves around these three words and reflects on memories of music through acoustic and electronic sound, light, text and movement.
As if I've been here before is musician and composer Gyrid Nordal Kaldestad's final project in her artistic PhD at NTNU. During the last four years, Kaldestad has worked his way into the artistic material in the form of concerts, installations, performances and sound walks. As part of these various artistic processes, she has written poetry, diary notes and reflections related to memories of music, of encounters across time and place, and of landscapes.
The work revolves around three key words which in different ways can be said to form the basis of the work: Condition. Standstill. Distance.
The audience is welcomed into a composition that moves through several of Rosendal Teater's rooms. The composition consists of acoustic and electronic sound, light, text and movement, and is performed by eight musicians, a dance artist and a lighting artist.
Language: Norwegian, but can be experienced independently of language understanding as a musical work
