Friday 13 June. ST.NIKLAS + support. Doors open at 20:00 - concert starts at 21:00. Age limit 18 years.
That a love of John Hughes films, 80s pop culture and a fascination with analogue synths would lead to the end of a band and the beginning of a solo career was never the plan for musician and producer Niklas Nesset aka ST. NIKLAS from Trondheim. Since his first releases in 2016, the Oslo-based artist has been streamed over two million times on the largest streaming platforms, held several sold-out concerts and had several songs in regular rotation on radio, both in Norway and abroad.
The sound of ST. NIKLAS combines elements of radio pop from the eighties and atmospheric synths, and has previously been described as "music that could have slipped right into the soundtrack to the movie Drive, if it were more cheerful" by the Urørt editorial team in P3.
After his musical comeback in 2023, ST. NIKLAS released the first part of his debut album, habits of a complex mind, an EP that contained songs such as a heart of doubt and no one else, in addition to the P3-listed duet with DØSSI, comfy. In May, he released the summer hit jumpstart, which has been played almost 500 times abroad, and has been featured in magazines such as Illustrate Magazine.
Recently, the song phone calls from home was released, which was also celebrated with a dreamy danceable release concert at Mir in Oslo. This concert marks the start of his Norwegian tour that continues in 2025.
ST. NIKLAS debuted back in 2016 with the C-O-O-L EP, which was praised by NRK Urørt, and highlighted by music bloggers and Spanish marathon runners(!!), which accumulated over a million streams on Spotify alone, and was high on Spotify Viral in both Norway, Sweden and Spain. Three of the songs on the EP premiered on P3, and some of the songs had rotation on both P1 and P3.
Support RUIZ:
Håvar Ruiz Anthun, known as Ruiz, is an artist, songwriter, composer and singer based in Trondheim. He was previously the vocalist of the band The Airborne Highfives, which topped the P3 chart with the song "Monster". After being under the radar for 10 years, he is now out as a solo artist. His music is genre-varied, but has a common thread in the form of strong messages in the lyrics.
