ALOK (referred to in the plural forms they / them) is known as an internationally renowned poet, author, fashion influencer, lecturer, comedian and humanitarian transfeminine activist.
As a vocal and fearless advocate for equality and recognition of transgender people, ALOK has quickly become one of America's most important voices for the transgender community. This has put them on the prestigious NBC Pride list of the 50 most influential people in the LGBTQ community, and their commitment has gradually spread around the world. ALOK has performed at over 600 venues across 40 countries in recent years, and is known for their unique style on stage that integrates poetry, comedy and lectures to explore topics such as trauma, belonging and the human condition.
The author and comedian has recently headlined the acclaimed comedy festivals New York Comedy Festival and Just for Laughs Festival in Vancouver, and has appeared on several TV shows including the docu-series GETTING CURIOUS WITH JONATHAN VAN NESS this spring.
