THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® will be taking place on the 3rd and 4th of November. We guarantee immesurable energy, fast-paced action and enormous power when national teams such as Norway, US, Australia, New Zealand and Sweden go head-to-head.

Team Competition - Friday the 3rd November from 6.30 PM (doors open at 5PM). The 22 national teams go head-to-head to fight for their honour and the team title of World Chamopins. Buy tickets for the Team Competition here
Individual Competition - Saturday the 4th November from 6.30 PM (doors open at 5PM). The best athlete from each country will compete in an individual heat to fight for the prestigious World Champion title. Buy tickets for the individual competition here
Facts about STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® World Championship
- First competition held in 2005 - Organiziner of the competition is the German chainsaw producer STIHL - 22 participating nations (100 contestants) - 6 exercises. One with handsaw, two with chainsaw and three with axe - This years championship will be held in Lillehammer from the 3rd to 4th of November, 2017 - The competition was last held in Lillehammer in 2012 - Australia are the current team World Champions - Jason Wynyard from New Zealand is the reigning individual World Champion and holds the most individual gold medals - Olympic rower Olaf Tufte was one of the contestants in Håkon's Hall in 2012
In the modern edition of STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® there are six exercises, and the athletes must handle axes, chainsaws and two-meter-long handsaws throughout the competition. The exercises with axes are named Springboard, Standing Block Chop and Underhand Chop, and the exercises with saws and chainsaws are named Stock Saw, Single Buck and Hot Saw. The disciplines focus on a combination of skill and strength required when handeling equipment that can weigh up to 30 kilos and have a power of 80hp.
