Storm Weather Shanty Choir delivered raw and energetic interpretations of shanty and sailor's songs for 25 years.
They enter the anniversary year with undiminished energy!

The former sailing ship sailor Haakon Steinar Vatle started the Storm Weather Shanty Choir after inspiration from the sailing ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl, where he worked on deck for several years.

When he returned to Stord, he gathered the Vene gang, Rune Nesse, Vidar Vedå, Gisle Østrem, Ronny Sætre and Roald Kaldestad, and formed the rock choir.

Musically, Storm Weather Shanty Choir is becoming more and more popular, and they have become known as a colorful feature in both the folk music and rock milieu. They have toured several times in Japan, the USA and Europe, and here at home they have played at festivals such as Vossa Jazz, Den festivalen i Vangen, Trænafestivalen, Tysnesfest, Førdefestivalen, Bergenfest, Folkelarm and by:Larm. In addition, they are regulars with sold-out houses in Oslo, Trondheim and Bergen.

Their inclusive concerts are a guaranteed audience winner, and a breath of fresh air on all concert stages. 2025 will be the year for anniversary concerts and fine guests on stage!
