Do plants have feelings? Do they react to threats? And can they lie?
Studies of a Figure in Green - Chapter 1 is a performative installation based on the work of former CIA agent Cleve Backster, who in the 1960s attached a lie detector to his own office plant. This misunderstood, confused and fascinating attempt to communicate with nature is the starting point for the development of a unique visual world.

LiLi Re unites movement, voice recordings and video images to create an immersive installation - a sensory environment where the audience becomes part of a pseudo-scientific world of hybrid experiments, where they can fall in love with a potted plant and search for truth.

Studies of a Figure in Green - Chapter 1 is part of a trilogy that explores man's strange but passionate relationship with nature. The title is inspired by the many studies of figures in landscapes in the history of painting. Each "figure" in our work will form a chapter in this trilogy.
