The musical beacon Team Hegdal has, since its inception in 2009, distinguished itself as one of Norway's most original and innovative jazz bands. They have five critically acclaimed albums behind them (Spellemannswinner for "Vol 3") and have toured around Norway, Europe, Japan and Canada.

This evening, Team Hegdal presents completely new music — a continuation of their unmistakable sound: playful and virtuosic, melodic, genre-broad, telepathic interaction, combined with a sometimes absurd humor.

The ensemble's tone poet, Buddy Prize winner in 2025, Eirik Hegdal, has a long experience as artistic director of the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, where he has led projects with names such as Joshua Redman, Dave Holland, Maria Kannegaard, Pat Metheny and Bill Frisell. The last two in close collaboration with the orchestra's subsequent leader, Ole Morten Vågan. On the occasion of Eirik Hegdal's "recent" tour, he received a gift from the ensemble's highly gifted comp - written on the cardboard cover of a hotel key card: "You're going on tour!"
