Teddy Røwde (1912-1994) was considered one of the most significant Norwegian artists of her time, but today she is mostly forgotten. The exhibition Dream landscape gives a new generation the opportunity to get to know her work. After Røwde graduated from the Oslo Academy of Fine Art in 1931, she moved to Paris to continue her studies. Later on, she traveled to the United States, Hungary, Mexico and Haiti, where she continued to paint landscapes using her own distinctive technique. Her work did not conform to the fashions of the time. While her contemporaries were working on large-scale allegorical scenes, Røwde painted tiny, intense and visionary landscapes influenced by Rousseau and Van Gogh. The exhibition is part of the series Munch Museum on the Move, and is shown in a temporary gallery in Dronning Eufemias gate 34, next door to Oslo Kunsthall.
