Born out of the vibrant blues scene in Stockholm's old town, The Blue Benders have spent many late nights at popular venues such as Stampen and St Clara before officially becoming a band in May 2021. The band's journey began when guitarists Edvin and Morris began exploring the local music scene. When friend and singer Samson got involved, the band's style began to take shape. As drummer Oskar and bassist Johan joined in, the result was a musical cocktail where the musicians' different influences took center stage. The sound often stretches beyond the boundaries of genres and is driven by curiosity to other territories beyond traditional blues. This often results in a multifaceted mix of blues, rock, soul and funk that is constantly evolving and surprising. The band has amassed a number of significant awards, both collectively and individually, including Newcomer of the Year in 2022, Band of the Year, Record of the Year and Live of the Year in 2023, chosen by Bluespodden's annual awards. In 2023, the band also managed to come in 2nd place (among 21 acts) in the international competition "European Blues Challenge". Rapid success on the Swedish music scene led to a productive week in the studio, resulting in the band's debut EP "Strike One" which was released in the fall of 2023. The release concert at Nalen in Stockholm was a sold-out success and marked the beginning of a new era for the band. With an extensive tour in 2024, Blue Benders continues to conquer the stage and create memorable experiences for the audience.
