Discover the performing arts of the future at the DUS festival!
DUS - Den unge scene invites you to a festival where young theater groups from the region take the stage with newly written performances.
Young people aged 13 to 19 have created and developed their own productions based on texts and concepts written especially for them, and the results are anything from touching to raw.
Six youth theater groups take part in this regional festival, bringing unique narratives to the stage that reflect the lives, thoughts and feelings of young people, with a wide range of genres from contemporary drama to experimental theatre.
DUS - Den unge scene is a nationwide project that works to raise the level of youth theater in Norway. DUS was established in 2004, and is now starting the tenth project round. Each round runs over two years, during which DUS commissions and develops scenic texts and concepts specially created for young people, and young people create performances based on the newly written texts. A number of professional theater environments collaborate and guide the process in their regions. The groups then play at regional festivals, before each round ends with a nationwide festival for qualified groups. DUS promotes youth theater all over the country, and now you have the chance to experience it at Rosendal Theatre.
