14 and 15 September: Experience Ibsen with slam poetry and intense blues

Experience the slam poet Evelyn Rasmussen Osazuwa and blues virtuouso Amund Maarud in Ibsen’s The Lady from the Sea.

Very little has changed in the human mind since Henrik Ibsen wrote The Lady from the Sea, some 130 years ago. We still ask the same questions about life, about death, about love. Words we both fear and seek out.

And what is it about the sea? Why do we long for its mystique, anxiety, calm, beauty and the superstitions that surround it? Does freedom exist? These are some of the questions posed by the fresh and untraditional take on Ibsen’s The Lady from the Sea, directed by Liv Borg Thorsen.

On stage you will find two leading artists from their respective fields. Slam poet Evelyn Rasmussen Osazuwa in the role of Ellida and the musician Amund Maarud in the role of The Stranger.

The performance is part of the 2018 International Ibsen Festival.
