18th and 19th of February the Longyearbyen Mixed Choir is presenting Mozarts opera, the Magic Flute, in Norwegian in collaboration with professional opera singers.
It all starts at 18:00 at Tio Monchos with the Conductor's introduction, where he presents the opera, cast and story.
The concerts will start at 19:00 and lasts for 2,5 hours with a break between the acts where it will be possible to buy drinks.

HISTORY'S MOST FAMOUS OPERA
This was Mozart's last opera, and recognized as being one of the most famous operas of all time. It was meant to be a comedy opera for the people, not just the elite, and is therefore concidered by many to be more like a musical than an opera.
In this version it has been changed so that the action takes place in Svalbard, and the goal has been to make it entertaining for people of all ages, and even though it is in Norwegian, the comedy is so visual that it will also be entertaining for people who doesnt speak the language.
