The Mela Festival


13–15 August: Free, multicultural festival for the whole family at Oslo's City Hall Square

Annual multicultural festival at Rådhusplassen (City Hall Square). Oslo Mela is one of the largest events of its kind outside the Asian subcontinent.

Mela means "meeting point", and has roots thousands of years back in South Asia. In its modern form Mela is a festival based on artistic and cultural expressions, food and stalls with information and goods of all kinds. The festival is popular with all age groups.
