The Nordmarka March

Overview

Enjoy a hike in autumn colors through the Nordmarka forest, from Stryken Sognsvann (long course, 32 km, start between 8.30 and 9.30 am) or from Hammeren to Sognsvann (short trail, 17 km, start between 10 and 11 am). The track passes some of Nordmarka finest areas, including famous places such as Sandungen, Hakkloa, Bjørnsjøen and Skjærsjoen. There are two rest stops along the way with sale of food and drink. The entire stretch from Stryken to Sognsvann follows a dirt road, and is therefore easily navigable. Part of the Hammeren to Sognsvann route is on a forest trail. The entry fee includes a medal, and there is a new medal every year. Pre-registration not necessary - just go to Stryken (take the Jaren train from Oslo Central Station at 7.42 am) or Hammeren and pay the entry fee. The Nordmarka March is organised by Ryggsekken Activity Club.
