Kosmorama - Trondheim International Film Festival is proud to present the drama comedy Uncle Jens as the opening film for the 21st edition of the festival.
It was recently announced that Uncle Jens will have its world premiere at one of the world's largest festivals, South by Southwest (SXSW) in March. Now it is clear that the team will board a plane from Austin, Texas and travel directly to the red carpet in Trondheim to open Kosmorama with the first screening of Uncle Jens on Norwegian soil.
About the film
What do you do when an uncle you haven't seen in years shows up at your door in the middle of the night? Norwegian teacher Akam confronts his cultural roots when he has to take his uncle “Jens” into the collective. He doesn't know why he has come and how long he will stay. Akam gradually begins to wonder what is behind his uncle's spontaneous visit. The truth may have unforeseen consequences for both of them.
Uncle Jens is a heartwarming film that will make you think and laugh. Themes such as being a second-generation immigrant, culture shock and love are central to Brwa Vahabpour's feature film debut.
