United Nations World Food Program Goodwill Ambassador, Abel "The Weekend" Tesfaye, will once again work with the United Nations World Food Program to contribute funds to the XO Humanitarian Fund, which supports the organization's work on the global hunger crisis. 1 Euro from every ticket sold across Europe, 1 GBP in the UK and the equivalent of 1 USD in Latin America goes to this important cause. The fund raises money in North America through ticket sales, proceeds from an exclusive t-shirt and a $500,000 donation directly from The Weeknd. His collaborators, venues, board and supporters of the World Food Program USA have also contributed, as well as tour sponsor Binance, which contributed US$2 million to the fund. The first grant of USD 2 million will provide emergency aid to the most food insecure regions in Ethiopia.
The tour celebrates The Weeknd's 2020 album "After Hours", which includes the hit single "Blinding Lights", named the new Billboard Hot 100 number 1 hit of all time. In addition to his critically acclaimed album 'Dawn FM' which was released in January 2022.
