“THE CHINESE ARE COMING!”
Way back in time, in 1988, you could find this graffiti everywhere in the center of Trondheim. People scratched their heads and wondered what the heck this could be. The mystery was solved for most Trondheim residents, and elsewhere in the country, when Tre Små Kinesere's first album came out in 1990. Since then, there have been 14 albums and hundreds of concerts.
Album number 14 came out in April and is titled "Kiss in the Dark". The songs have varying themes, but most of them this time are focused on love. This from a band that has mostly stayed away from the most used theme in popular music. The album is held in a stripped-down suit, true to the vision that it should sound like "an evening in the same room as Tre Små Kinesere."
A concert with Tre Små Kinesere is a quite different experience than sitting at home and whistling to the records. In his hometown of Trondheim, it is almost impossible to hear the band over the audience's singing, something the last few concerts, including in Olavshallen, were proof of.
This, combined with Risnes' "nonsense" and good stories between the songs, is part of what makes these concerts a memorable experience.
The guys always deliver, whether there are 74 or 740 in the hall:
