Kristiansunderen Albregt W. Selmer, born 1864, was one of Trondheim's "new men". He established Selmer's shipping company with the support of several other "new men" in Trondheim, including Consul General Adolf Ferdinand Øien. The shipping company's lifespan is from 1897 to 1928, during the shipping company's existence it changes its name to A/S Det Selmerske Rederi. Trondheim's local historian, writer, specialist author, guide and former conservator Terje Bratberg, will tell us about the history of the shipping company.
