Thursday meeting: The happy thing
For most of his life, Peder Seivåg was considered a curiosity in Hitra and Frøya. He made his living mostly as a spell caster and painter, but in 1911 he did something that would make him a national celebrity in that pretty country. Well into his 60s, he decided to board the boat "Den glade grei" and row from Hitra to Kristiania. When he arrived, he had made a name for himself in almost every newspaper from Trøndelag to the capital. But who was this Peder Seivåg? Head of Department for Cultural History and Communication at the Coastal Museum in Sør-Trøndelag will bring the story of Peder Seivåg to light, a story that can make us cry and laugh at the same time - a bit like Peder Seivåg was known to do.
Lecture by Hans Jacob Westermann Farstad from the Coastal Museum in Sør-Trøndelag.
