Retrofuturism and lost visions of the future!
On Saturday, October 4, Ugress finally returns to Trondheim with the sci-fi universe "Retrotopia" in cinematic format. The concert offers a spectacular and immersive musical experience through a multiverse of historical visions of the future.
From early pulp sci-fi via psychedelic plastic 60s to 90s VR angst and contemporary solarpunk, "Retrotopia" explores how memories, media and technology influence our eternal search for the "right" future. Ugress performs live on stage an interactive audiovisual universe that challenges the audience's perception of time and reality.
Ugress is the musical media art project of Gisle Martens Meyer from Bergen. The music of Ugress has been used in countless films, TV series, computer games and short-form videos on the internet. Through concerts, tours and award-winning works for major institutions such as the Bergen International Festival, Meta.Morf Biennale and TIFF, Ugress has established itself as a unique voice in electronic music and contemporary media art. Ugress last played in Trondheim in 2020.
