wheel trowing for beginners
The weekend wheel trowing for beginners gives you the space and time to learn basic turning techniques over the course of a weekend.
The course is a good starting point for anyone who wants to try their hand at turning, whether you've worked with clay before or not.
The turntable weekend is intended for adults and can be organised as needed.
We work in small groups of about 9 people. The course is basically in Norwegian, but English or German is no problem.
The course runs from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 3pm on Sunday.
The main focus is on mastering the individual steps during the turning process.
We learn by seeing - we understand with our heads, but master with our hands.
This process requires concentration and patience.
At the same time, it is a unique experience of being present and teaching the body to handle the clay on the potter's wheel.
We master in small steps and grow to love every little bowl we make.
The course provides a good foundation to continue working on your own at the potter's wheel, either in our shared workshop or at home.
On Saturday, we work on preparing the clay, centring the wheel and building walls for cups and bowls.
Sunday is mainly used for trimming, where we remove excess clay from the objects we turned the day before and create a nice shape and finish.
After drying, the objects will be fired in the kiln. At the end of the course, we agree on how the objects will be glazed.
And then the treasures can be collected after about 3 weeks.
The course fee is NOK 3,650 for adults and NOK 3,102 for young people (up to
