Yann Tiersen

He is the man behind the film music of Amélie and Good Bye, Lenin !, and is one of France's foremost contemporary composers and multi-instrumentalists.

"I think there is a similarity between the infinite big and the infinite smallness of everything", says Yann Tiersen. "It's the same experiment looking through a microscope as it is a telescope."

This has permeated large parts of Yann Tiersen's career. He is an artist capable of great expansiveness, as often as he is preoccupied with intricate details. However, he is not one to stick to a formula. For Tiersen, context is everything, and the context changes all the time, filled with idiosyncratic compositions and colorful textures.
