Bento boxes are often elaborate and colorful, and the contents a few or three notches above the trusty Norwegian food package. So too with the trio Bento Box! An acoustic sound combined with non-traditional instrumentation gives room for improvisation and not least digging into unexplored rhythms and melody lines, and the music has drawn inspiration from folk music and classical as well as free jazz. Varied and delicious, in other words, just like a good lunch!
In 2024, the trio released the album Somehow I Lost My Way, together with jazz luminaries Mats Eilertsen and Sissel Vera Pettersen. The music is improvisational and ranges from the fragile and melancholic to the intense and insistent. The album revolves around the feeling of losing direction – and finding new paths together.
Tuva Halse – violin
Sissel Vera Pettersen – vocals/saxophone
Benjamín Gísli Einarsson – piano
Mats Eilertsen – bass
Øyvind Leite – drums
Tickets: 220kr ordinary/ 170kr student / 100kr Trondheim Jazzforum member.
The concert is supported by the Norwegian Directorate of Culture and Trondheim Municipality.
