MALABARI at Ray's Bar

April 30th is the NIGHT OF MAY 1ST. Or so it will be eventually. And then we in Legend Trondheim have to have a concert. This time with MALABARI and this time at RAY'S BAR. A real intimate concert there. Reminder that MALABARI is playing two full sets this evening. And they start after the quiz is over.

Malabari is a melodic, eclectic hard rock band that is not afraid to flirt with the heaviest elements of metal. It has been barely a year since they released their well-received debut album Down The Maelstrom, but the band is not resting on their laurels. On October 3, 2025, they released their follow-up album “…And Into The Abyss”, and promoted it with an ever-so-small autumn tour with gigs at Hulen in Bergen, Rockheim in Trondheim and at Ørland Rockfest together with bands Jelusick; Mayfire and Dynazty.

“…And Into The Abyss” was recorded at the same time as the debut, but despite that, it shows new and more intense sides of the band. The music draws inspiration from grand hard rock and metal à la Ghost and Metallica, the groovy heaviness of El Caco, and with elements of aggression that can be reminiscent of something from the modern metal scene. The result is uncompromising, melodic hard rock that is both captivating and hard-hitting.
With songs like the majestic Make Way For The King, with a music video filmed at the venerable Thamspaviljongen in Orkanger, and the hard-hitting beast Hypnagogia, which pulls the band into a heavier groove metal landscape. The album offers a wide range, and on stage the expression is taken a notch further.

Despite their relatively short career, Malabari has managed to win TM:Live 2022 and an honorable third place in the national Wacken Metal Battle final, release the aforementioned two albums, and with experience from several sold-out concerts and a reputation for energetic and audience-friendly performances, it is clear that Malabari will tear the house down when they visit Rays Bar on April 30th!
