Mozart • Four ensembles • One masterpiece
One evening in April, Nidaros Cathedral will become the arena for something very special: Four of Trondheim's leading ensembles will unite for Mozart's eternally young Requiem.
The Nidaros Cathedral Boys' Choir, the Trondheim Soloists, the Norwegian Air Force Band and the Trondheim Vocal Ensemble will gather for one of the most famous and beloved works in music history. 70 singers – from 8 to 80 years old – will sing together with 45 professional musicians in the cathedral's unique acoustics.
This will be a generational meeting where the boys' choir's distinctive sound meets the orchestra, band and soloists in a work that has inspired audiences for over 200 years. From movie screens to concert stages around the world, Mozart's Requiem has shown its ability to speak to people of all ages and backgrounds.
The concert marks the choir's path towards its 100th anniversary in 2027 – an evening you will never forget.
