Summer is a time for enjoyment. Bright evenings, scents, colors and warmth open our minds to new experiences. We will take advantage of this beautiful time of year to offer concerts on the Nidaros Cathedral's amazing organs. During the summer, five organists from Spain, Germany, Sweden, Belgium and Japan will be guests at Nidaros Cathedral.
This evening, Juan Maria Pedrero from Spain plays. He graduated with honors from the Liceo Conservatory in Barcelona, and later pursued further education in France.
After winning first prize at the Concours National Inter-Conservatoires de France in 2000, he was appointed organist-in-residence at the Sapporo Concert-Hall in Japan in 2001–02. Since then, he has performed in concerts in Europe, America and Asia.
Pedrero is an organ teacher at the Conservatory of Granada. He is a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Granada and director of the International Organ Academy. In 2019 he co-founded the Organ Academy of Castile, where he teaches early Iberian organ music on the historic organs around Tordesillas. He is the artistic director of Granada in the ECHO – European Cities of Historical Organs network.
