WAKO feat. Alexandra Ridout

WAKO invites the British New York-based super trumpeter Alexandra Ridout on a journey in November. This is their Trondheim concert. Don't miss this!

Both as a bandleader and sideman, she collaborates with prominent names such as Samara Joy, Dave Douglas, Melissa Aldana and Savannah Harris. She is also regularly heard at clubs such as Birdland, Ornithology and The Jazz Gallery. Ridout plays with a virtuosity and tonal range that can evoke thoughts of legends such as Clifford Brown and Freddie Hubbard, while at the same time pointing forward to a newer generation of musicians such as Peter Evans and Dave Douglas.

Together they present newly written music from their upcoming collaboration – a modern and hard-swinging jazz expression characterized by driving groove, strong melodies and tight interplay. Meeting Ridout brings new energy and playing joy to the already dynamic expression WAKO is known for. This will be an exciting evening with completely new music!
