Explore the theatre behind the scenes – visit our workshops, stages and historic spaces, including the Royal Lounge and the historic Actors’ Lounge.
Our guides bring the theatre’s history to life, from its opening in 1899 to the legacy of playwrights Henrik Ibsen and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, who helped shape modern theatre as we know it today.
Did you know that the Oscar-winning film Sentimental Value was partly filmed at the theatre? The tour will take you to the very locations where scenes were shot and share fun facts about other stars who have performed on The National Theatre stage.
The tour concludes at Theaterbaren and on Oslo’s finest balcony, where you can fully enjoy the summer evening.
