Øvre Verket

Øvre Verket represents one of the most important culturally historic places from the years of industrialization in Norway.

Øvre Verket at Ulefoss is a collection of worker's homes connected to Ulefos Jernværk. The houses is from the 19th century and is special because they are built around a yard. There are  toilets, brewer's houses and other buildings as well as water posts that are still to be seen in the yard. The little houses are red painted. This paint is a product of the iron ore on which Jernverket builds its production on.

The houses were protected in the 1980s and is now filled with museums, exhibitions, shops and workshops.

The garden and the yard are authentic
