Together with our partners we offer a wide range of adventures . It is a great base for exploring the magnificent sights like Svartisen Saltstraumen, the mountain, Glomfjord and a popular archipelago of about 700 islands.

Ørnes has a varied number of shops, liqure store, pharmacies, nursing homes and medical center etc. Ørnes has daily express boat connection to Bodø and Sandnessjøen and daily arrivals of Coastal Voyage. Bus departures daily to Bodo.

From Ørnes Hotel you can explore the surrounding area.  Most popular is the glacier Svartisen just 35 min drive to the south.  To get go the glacier you need to take a boat ride accross the beautiful fjord Holandsfjorden.

Next to Brestua cafe you will find a small moose farm and you my Kiss a Moose.

The best way to explore Svartisen would be to go on a guided glacier tour.  Either with Meløy Adventure or Beyond Limits both, offering excellent walks on the glacier.

Another popular place to visit is the mountain Glomfjellet, just south of Glomfjord and north of Svartisen.  Here you can see the worlds largest stone filling dam, Storglomvassdammen.  This is also a very popular area for hiking among the locals.  Follow the 9 km long mountain road from Fv17 just before Svartisen tunnel.

In the same area Beyond Limits offer an arctic kayakk experience. Padle along with icebergs and get close to the glacier (Svartisen).  This is a guided tour and no experience is needed.

Along the scenic road Kystriksveien to the north you will find the rest stop Ureddplassen.  This is one of several points of interest along the National Tourist Route.  The restroom is named by Brithish press, "the worlds most beautiful outdoor toilet".  This is a very good spot if you want to see the midnight sun.
