An Oslo institution dating back to 1857.

Restaurant in a charming building where Engebret first opened its doors back in 1857.

The kitchen is classic Norwegian, with dishes from all over the country. The menu offers large selection of seafood, but game is another speciality – especially in autumn. The famous Norwegian dish lutefisk (cod cured in lye) is in great demand around Christmas, and this tradition is a big part of Engebret's identity.

The wine list incorporates most wine-producing countries, but has an emphasis on French wines and also includes the restaurant's own Cuvée Jubileum.

Outdoor serving area open in summer.
Private banquet facilities available for large and small groups.
