When and where can I fish for salmon, sea trout, or Arctic char?

The Atlantic salmon is now classified as “near threatened” on the Norwegian Red List, which means it is at risk of extinction. The Red List helps us identify species that need protection and conservation measures to ensure their survival.

The river is divided into a total of 8 zones. Fishing licenses are sold at the grocery store Spar Vigeland and at Grønberg Sport in Kristiansand. You can also buy fishing licenses online.



Fishing licenses cost from NOK 50 per day. In addition to salmon fishing, the river also offers fishing for sea trout and brown trout.



In 1985, Audna was the first of the rivers in Southern Norway to be fully limed, leading to the re-establishment of a salmon population.
