For adventurers, Gausta offers exciting off-piste and ski touring experiences. Standing at 1,883 meters above sea level, Gaustatoppen is an iconic peak – and one of the most accessible in Norway.
Inside the mountain, the spectacular Gaustabanen funicular takes you and your skis to the summit in just 15 minutes – with no effort required. Thanks to the Gaustaekspressen shuttle, you can easily combine Gaustabanen with the rest of the ski resort, as the bus runs between the slopes and the lift.
Gausta offers world-class cross-country skiing with trails up to 23 km long and a total of 85 km of groomed tracks. Beginners will find easy loops perfect for their first outings, while experienced skiers can challenge themselves on longer trails while enjoying panoramic views of Telemark’s majestic mountain landscape.
When darkness falls, a 3 km floodlit loop keeps the ski fun going, and every morning you can track the grooming machine by GPS – and be the first to lay tracks in freshly groomed snow.
Thanks to its high altitude and modern snowmaking facilities, Gausta is one of Norway’s most snow-secure ski resorts, with reliable conditions from December through April.
