Lapphaugen Turiststasjon Café is a warm and informal eatery at the foot of Spanstind 40min north of Narvik along the E6 towards Tromsø. Here, guests can stop by for coffee and cakes, lunch or dinner in quiet surroundings between large-scale mountains.
The kitchen is based on Norwegian food tradition and dishes from the hinterland. The menu can vary from day to day and from season to season, with dishes such as salted meat with turnip mash and potatoes, salmon, cuts of beef, moose and reindeer when available. The moose meatballs are made according to a family recipe from his grandmother.
Before Christmas, traditional Christmas food such as ribs and pork chops are served on the buffet, along with a large selection of desserts and cakes. Lapphaugen also welcomes groups who want lunch or dinner in the café's own premises.
