What is the history of Mandelhuset?
Mandelhuset is located by the waterfront in Våge. The three old white buildings with green trim on the former steamship quay were once a general store and a quay for fjord boats. Today, the site has been transformed into a warm and cosy restaurant where the kitchen uses Norwegian ingredients to create enjoyable dining experiences.
The current owners have operated Mandelhuset since 2005, but Mandelhuset was established in 1995 after the general store closed in 1994, having been in operation since 1923. The hosts describe their mission as follows:
“Our task is to be a good restaurant and meeting place on Tysnes. We will do our part to make Tysnes a good place to live and visit.”

What are the opening hours at Mandelhuset?
Restaurant kitchen opening hours in June and August: Thursday-Sunday (see their web-page for opening hours).
In July, the restaurant is open every day.
The restaurant is closed during the rest of the year, but is available for private events and meetings.
