Are you ready for the ultimate Norwegian challenge? The Standard Extra tour is our most action-packed itinerary, combining mountain hiking, downhill biking and sea kayaking in one incredible day. Starting from Bergen or Voss, this journey takes you from the high peaks of the Hardanger Plateau to the heart of the UNESCO-protected fjords.
Part 1: The Mountain Descent (Hike or Rail)
Your adventure begins at the remote Myrdal Station (866m above sea level). From here, you’ll embark on an exhilarating hike down to Kårdal.
The Route: A steep but well-maintained road offering dramatic mountain views.
Alternative Option: If you prefer to save your knees or have mobility concerns, you can swap the hike for the world-famous Flåm Railway at no extra cost (please contact us in advance).
Part 2: Downhill Biking to the Fjord
At Kårdal (the base of the Flåm Zipline), the pace picks up! Hop on a mountain bike for a thrilling downhill ride through the lush Flåm valley. You'll cycle past waterfalls and steep mountainsides until you reach the picturesque village of Flåm by the Aurlandsfjord.
Part 3: Sea Kayaking & Beach Camp Meal
After a short transfer to Gudvangen, you’ll join our Sea Kayaking team. Paddle through the calm, emerald waters of the magical Nærøyfjord, surrounded by towering mountains.
The Experience: Witness Norway’s raw nature from the water level.
The Meal: We stop at a scenic beach camp where a warm meal is prepared and served in the wild.
The Return: After paddling back to Gudvangen, relax on a shuttle drive through the spectacular Nærøydalen valley back to Voss.
The Standard Extra Fjord Tour lasts about 13 hours and takes you through some of the most beautiful scenery Norway has to offer.
