Voss Mountain Lodge is beautifully located in Raundalen, at Mjølfjell — nestled between a river, mountains and quiet wilderness. You stay in a historic mountain lodge with a warm atmosphere, long communal tables, and that special “we’re on an adventure” feeling — whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple, with family, or as part of a group.
Mjølfjell sits along the Bergen Railway, just a few stops from Myrdal, where the world-famous Flåm Railway begins. Getting here by train is easy: the train stops at Ørneberget station (stop on request), and from there it’s a short but steep path down to the lodge — so sturdy shoes are recommended.
Season and what to expect
Low season (September–June): self-service stay — no reception and no food service. You check in yourself and have access to shared kitchen and bathrooms (similar to a self-service mountain cabin).
High season (20 June–20 August): a fully hosted mountain lodge with staff, open common areas, and food service — a social and lively mountain experience.
After your day outdoors, you can warm up in the sauna — also available for day visitors (drop-in). The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for hiking, cycling, and fishing in summer, and skiing in winter.
For groups: You can also book the entire lodge, and they offer tailored setups for celebrations, events, and company groups.
The accommodation is set in a fantastic outdoor area where you can cycle, hike, or fish in summer, and go skiing in winter. Voss town centre is a 29 km drive away.
