Go on a true winter adventure with Outdoorlife Norway and sleep a night in a snow cave! Just a stone's throw outside of Stavanger, thick layers of snow blanket the region's majestic mountains. Join us on a snowshoe hike into winter wonderland and experience Norway's winter by spending a magical night in your own cozy snow castle.

Our professional guides know where to find the best snow-conditions for building a snow cave for our guests. Since building a quality and spacious snow cave takes several hours, the snow cave will be ready for you to move in when you arrive by snow shoes.

While being transported to the hiking trail, which takes between 1-2 hours, you'll pass through a variety of dramatic landscapes. Some of the things you can look forward to seeing include fjords, mountains, waterfalls, boulder fields, isolated farm villages, and steep granite walls towering over u-shaped valleys that were carved out by glaciers.

At the trail-head, your guide will introduce you to the art of hiking with snowshoes and then lead you on a 2-hour winter adventure. To ensure that you'll meet as few people as possible on the trail, your guide will diligently search for opportunities to hike 'off-the-beaten-track'.

When we arrive our home for the night, you'll be surprised how comfortable sleeping in the snow can be. To increase the enchantment and comfort of your stay, we will prepare a warm and nutritious Norwegian stew for you. You will provided with warm shoewear and down jackets, and sleep on insulating reindeer hides. After dinner and hot beverages served by candle light, you can rest assure to sleep well. The snow walls will keep all sounds and wind outside.

After breakfast the next morning, we will hike back to civilisation on snow shoes by following a different route, to maximize the quality of your experience and interaction with Norway's pristine nature.
