This is an exclusive 3 days cruise to Magdalenafjorden for up to 6 passengers. During the trip we will also visit Ny Ålesund, the northernmost settlement on the planet, and experience the beautiful nature and wildlife at close range. Walrus, whales, seals, birds and maybe the polar bear itself.
We will make landings during the days at some of the most interesting places in the northwest corner of Spitsbergen. The mountains are magnificent and the glaciers are blue and calving.
Magdalenafjorden is one of the most famous fjords in Spitsbergen. It was the legendary Willem Barents who first discovered this magnificent fjord on the north west corner of Spitsbergen. The location is more than 150 nautical miles from Longyearbyen.

Day to day programme
The guide will meet you at your hotel 10 A.M and greet you welcome to this Arctic Adventure. The guide will bring you to the yacht where we'll meet our captain. Before throwing ropes, we'll get a short safety briefing and housing in the bunks.
We head towards North and our first stop is at Poolepynten/Forlandet where we pay a walrus colony a visit. If the lazy walruses are present we spend some time with these magnificent creatures before we continue north with majestic surroundings. We will spend the first night in one of the many bays of Kongsfjorden. During the evening we make a landing in an isolated bay and experience the amazing sound of the birds just beneath the "Hanging Gardens of Spitsbergen".
Waking up beneath a glacier front we enjoy breakfast on board before we continue northwards and cruise into Magdalenefjorden. Willem Barents, the discoverer of Spitsbergen - sailed into this fjord for the first time in 1596 and named the island Spitsbergen because of the alpine and majestic mountains surrounding the fjord.
We will of course make a landing in this beautiful and historical place. It is regarded to be obligatory to visit the cultural remains, the graveyard, the blubber ovens and enjoyed the silence in this fjord. After a walk with many experiences we will anchor up and spend the night right here in beautiful surroundings and the only noise will be drifting ice floes and birds around the boat.
Today we head towards Ny-Ålesund, the northernmost scientific settlement in the world. The guide will take you on a guided trip around this historical «town». Maybe you would like to send the northernmost postcard in the world, or buy something from the northernmost shop? After visiting town we enjoy lunch on board before we head back to Longyearbyen. If time permits we make a landing on our way back to town, but for sure we will stop when, and if, we encounter exciting wildlife during the day!
