Come and get a real and fully-fledged Adventure-week in Svalbard, the land of the midnight sun! On the trip you will visit 3 towns where each is different and has its own story. Longyearbyen is the Norwegian capital of the archipelago with an airport situated near the town it is the first point you reach in Svalbard. Then it goes to Barentsburg – Little Russia in Svalbard, a town of the Arctic stories where you will warm up with the heat of hospitality and get to know old traditions of Russian hunters from the North. And finally, the Arctic time-machine back to the USSR, an open-air museum and a town «frozen» in time – Pyramiden.
When the adventure begins, you will sail across the endless fjords by open RIB boats to see diverse and eternal glaciers, you will walk along untouched landscapes and reach the top of mountains to see the beauty from above, you'll also meet almost all the Arctic sled dog breeds in a dog sledding kennel.

About the tour:
- English- and Russian- speaking guides will accompany you throughout the whole tour from start to finish.
- Departures every Monday
- Small groups with no more than 6-8 persons in each group.
- Bus transfers from/to your place of accommodation (or to the airport) in Longyearbyen on Day 1 and Day 7

Day 1. Monday
The day starts at 8:30 when our guides will meet you, pick you up at your hotel in Longyearbyen and drive to the expedition center Russkiy Dom. You will go through the briefing prep of the safety and technique rules and will get into the special suits. We will head to the harbour to our open RIB boat to travel to Barentsburg, across the second biggest fjord of Svalbard – Isfjord. Then we will make a stop-over in a «frozen» settlement – Coles Bay and Grumant, the first Soviet coal mining settlement in Svalbard. If the weather permits, a field lunch will be served during the break on shore. Upon arrival in Barentsburg you will go for a guided tour around the town to hear the stories of then and now and to visit our husky kennel. Optionally, you can even try yourself as a real musher and go dog sledding on wheels. Now it's time for dinner in the brewery, restaurant and bar Red Bear where you'll taste a locally made beer brewed on glacier lake water and English malt. Overnight in the hotel Barentsburg.
Day 2. Tuesday
After breakfast we will have a trip by open RIB boats along the picturesque shores of Isfjorden. If the weather permits it, the first stop-over is possible at the cape Festningen where you will see a lighthouse close-going ships navigate by, and have a walking tour passing by cape Starostin to reach the coast of Russekeila bay. The place is full of history! After a picnic, we will visit a former shore radio and weather station Isfjord radio and then head back to Barentsburg. Overnight in the hotel in Barentsburg.
Day 3. Wednesday
This day there is an option to visit the mine of Barentsburg, an active coal mine you can view on a tour with a guide. In the afternoon, you can join us on a real adventure! - go for a boat trip across Isfjorden to explore magnificent Arctic glaciers with tall glacial walls. This will give you a chance to dip into the incredible ecosystem and to see it from a different angle. During the stop-over, you will meet places full of history going back to hundreds of years ago. Experienced guides will get you ready with the safety and technical rules, will tell stories and serve a delish picnic. Overnight in the hotel in Barentsburg.
Day 4. Thursday
This day we will reach Pyramiden! – a unique place where the atmosphere of the USSR is combined with the coziness of the hotel and restaurant facilities. If the weather permits on the way, we will make a stopover on the northen side of Isfjorden and enjoy a hike across the wide and largely flat tundra to Rijpsburg – a settlement named after the captain on William Barentsz' expedition, with some of the most picturesque bays in Svalbard, with a rich history, bird colonies and incredible views. Upon arrival in Pyramiden, a warm lunch will be served in the hotel restaurant. After a day of activities, you will have a good night's sleep in the cosy Pyramiden hotel.
Day 5. Friday
After breakfast we will go for a guided tour including a visit to The Bottle House which is completely built out of glass bottles and has an exciting story behind it. Soviet style lunch will be served for you in the restaurant. One of the best ways to explore the area is to walk and hike in the surroundings of Pyramiden which is very special and various in its mountain landscapes. There is a number of routes for every taste and level of training.
Day 6. Saturday
Time to explore the tops! Today we will do a daily walking trip in the surroundings of Pyramiden with a hike to one of the mountain tops. Depending on the guest’s preferences and their training level, we offer various routes where each is full of breath-taking landscapes: glacier moraines and multi-coloured reliefs – the pure Arctic land is all around. Picnic is served on the way. In the evening, it's time for stories about soviet cinematography with a visit to the northernmost film stock cinema in the world and a blackened-out cinema hall.
Day 7. Sunday
After the delicious breakfast we will have a trip by open RIB boats with a stop-over near Nordenskiöldbreen glacier. The glacier tableland is 300 km long and the glacial wall strikes the imagination with its height and colours. You'll feel its «thunder» before you reach it. As soon as we get back to Pyramiden there will be a lunch served in the hotel restaurant and we will pack our things to head out back to Longyearbyen. Depending on the weather conditions, there will be a boat trip to Longyearbyen by a daily cruise-boat or open RIB boat. We will have a "farewell" dinner in one of the restaurants in Longyearbyen and say goodbye to each other. Transfer will be offered to the airport for guests taking the night flight.
